Manchester United arrived home in the early hours of Thursday morning after David De Gea's wonder save earned them a goalless draw at Sevilla.
The Spaniard produced a stop for the ages in the first half from a close-range header by Luis Muriel and made a string of other saves to ensure the Red Devils came away from Spain with a stalemate. But it was a tough night at the other end of the pitch for Jose Mourinho's men who struggled to carve out telling chances. Romelu Lukaku had the ball in the net in the second half but the strike was ruled out for handball as United toiled in front of goal. Ander Herrera limped off early with a hamstring problem, being replaced by Paul Pogba who had been named only as a substitute by Mourinho. But the Frenchman was ineffectual following his introduction with Alexis Sanchez also struggling to stamp his authority on proceedings. Speaking on Herrera after the match, Mourinho said...
""I think it is a bad injury. He had a small injury that stopped him for the last couple of matches but the medical team said he was 100 per cent ready for the last Saturday. We didn't play him to give more work and more protection, but it looks like he wasn't fully fit. The medical department made him fully fit. He trained and he looked fit. The way he was playing he showed that intensity that is only possible when you're fit. He was pressing really high, we were not giving one inch to them. Then the backheel created the contraction in the muscular error and now we have proof he was not 100 per cent fit."
